Positive Behaviour Mentor Required for School in Seaford, East Sussex

This school is set in Seaford and is a really lovely School where there are some vulnerable students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. There role has some flexibility on the age ranges you could work with!

This school strives to give their pupils a fresh approach to learning where they encourage pupils to continue their educational progress both within the time they are there and when they are ready to move on to other schools and establishments.

This school recognises the need to address both the social and emotional needs of their pupils alongside and in conjunction with their educational needs.

Applications for the position are welcome from candidates of ranging experience, and training will be provided, although previous experience working with students with SEMH, particularly attachment and trauma is preferable. Experience working with children with challenging behaviour is important and a strong sense of behaviour management is key.

Your Role

• Supporting a range of vulnerable children ranging from Reception to KS2

• Be able to appropriately calm children down and de-escalate

• Be able to effectively behaviour manage

• Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption

• Providing feedback to teachers and parents

• Be available - Full or Part time - 8.15am - 3.30pm

The ideal candidate

• Outgoing and mentoring manner

• Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential

• You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same working in SEN, so being prepared is vital.

• Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
