Plumber

Position Overview:

As a domestic plumber within a local authority, you will play a vital role in ensuring the functionality and safety of their properties. This is an ongoing position involving work on both void properties and repairs and maintenance tasks. You will be responsible for diagnosing plumbing issues, performing repairs, and carrying out installations as required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting inspections of plumbing systems in void properties to identify issues and necessary repairs.
• Performing repairs on plumbing fixtures, pipes, and fittings to ensure proper functionality and prevent leaks or damage.
• Installing new plumbing systems or components in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Responding promptly to repair requests and emergencies to minimise disruption for residents.
• Maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
• Collaborating with other members of the maintenance team to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
• Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as a domestic plumber, preferably in a similar setting such as social housing or property maintenance.
• Relevant plumbing qualifications and certifications.
• CSCS card.
• Asbestos awareness.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of plumbing issues.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, fixtures, and materials.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
