Pertemps Isle of Wight are looking for a HGV Plant Mechanic for a leading skip hire company operating in Newport on the Isle of Wight.
We are seeking an experienced HGV Plant Mechanic to join the skilled team. As a HGV Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the fleet of skip lorries, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on skip lorries, including hydraulic systems, engines, and electrical components.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize vehicle lifespan.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and drivers to address maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history.
- Always adhere to health and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
- You should hold relevant certifications as a HGV mechanic and/or plant mechanic.
- Experience working on heavy goods vehicles, preferably skip lorries.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
