The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for your own cases as well as assisting senior staff in performing larger and more complex cases.

Alongside this you will continue to develop your existing relevant technical knowledge through on-the-job experience and a variety of training opportunities.

This role is responsible to a designated senior manager, managing director or partner on specific cases and ultimately to a dedicated people manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assume day to day responsibility for active and new cases
  • Support the managers of the team to deliver on each assignment
  • Review, compile and analyse paperwork
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of statutory and compliance processes and deadlines
  • Highlight potential problems to senior staff quickly (with supporting information)
  • Deal with correspondence effectively and efficiently
  • Liaise with relevant agents / solicitors to obtain appropriate advice
  • Undertake basic investigations into debtor's financial affairs
  • Assisting at meetings with debtor
  • Review, analyse and compile documents received from the debtor
  • Prepare statutory reports which comply with regulations and ensure relevant data is captured.
  • Liaising with colleagues in our case management team
  • Liaising as necessary with the tax department
  • Familiarise and gain working knowledge of all regulatory and statutory requirements, including SIPs and best practice, Risk Management and Money Laundering
  • Perform other relevant duties and responsibilities as delegated
  • Assist in the realisation of assets and the distribution of funds to relevant stakeholders including the petitioner, agents, solicitors, insurers, and creditors.

Role requirements:

  • Knowledge of personal insolvency procedures including bankruptcy and individual voluntary arrangements is required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain an in-depth technical knowledge. Demonstrate an understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Written skills are essential as this role involves, at times, preparing reports, letters and witness statements some of which may be produced by colleagues or other third parties.
  • Communication skills are also essential given this candidate will be required to liaise with all stakeholders in a project including but not limited to colleagues, solicitors, barristers, agents and debtors.
  • Analytical skills are required as you will be expected to review bank statement transactions, credit card transactions, files from solicitors or accountants relating to the bankrupt.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of IPS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Good organisational skills to manage your time and ensure no tasks are overlooked.
  • Have a willingness to learn new things and thrive on new challenges.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic team player.
