Hours: 35 hours OR 20 hours. 
Duration: Temporary contract.
Start: Immediate
  
Hourly rate: £12-13/hour
  
Are you a passionate and motivated individual looking to make a difference? If so, BRC are recruiting for a support worker to join a passionate charity dedicated to providing support to vulnerable individuals in society, particularly young people aged 16-25. Their mission is to offer a second chance to those facing various challenges and facing homelessness or at risk of losing their tenancy.

Role Overview: As a Peripatetic Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in our team. Your responsibilities will span across multiple projects, providing compassionate support to individuals with diverse needs. You’ll collaborate with external agencies, assess individual requirements, and take proactive measures to prevent tenancy loss.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Diversity: Work across several different projects, adapting your skills to meet specific needs.
  • Confidence Building: Foster confidence and a positive attitude in the individuals you support.
  • Needs Assessment: Assess individual needs comprehensively.
  • Tenancy Preservation: Implement strategies to prevent tenancy loss.
  • Community Support: Encourage clients to establish and maintain a community support network.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals, police, and social services.
  • Case Management: Take ownership of managing your own caseload.
  • Informed Decision-Making: Support individuals in making informed choices.
  • Progress Tracking: Regularly review and adjust action plans based on client progress.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience: Previous work within the supported housing sector is essential.
  • Confidence: Ability to support individuals with complex needs.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Player: Collaborate effectively within a streamlined team.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Compassionate Listening: Show empathy and understanding.
  • Values-Driven: Our charity challenges societal stigmas and provides nonjudgmental support.
