Harris City Academy Crystal Palace is a mixed Academy for 1,300 students aged 11-18, with a large sixth form of nearly 400 students.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of equipment for sporting fixtures, including the washing and drying of team kit
  • Ensuring equipment and materials prepared for lessons are to teachers' specifications
  • Creating and updating information display boards around school
  • Helping with the organisation and running of events such as sports presentation evening, sports days, inter-school competitions and open evenings
  • Participating in departmental meetings and taking minutes
  • Preparing letters/emails to parents, other schools and outside agencies
  • Photocopying/laminating
  • Undertaking safety checks and risk assessments and complying with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation and policies
  • Answering telephone and relaying messages
  • Arranging/confirming fixtures and producing fixture lists
  • Contributing to the school’s programme of extra-curricular activities, including clubs and fixtures
  • Maintaining all sports equipment and ensure that storage rooms are kept clean and tidy and that equipment is stored in a safe and orderly fashion
  • Ensuring understanding of the various Physical Education and Sport syllabus and schemes of work in order to prepare for practical lessons adequately
What We are Looking For

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Qualifications to A Level or equivalent in Physical Education or Sport (Vocational)
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • Good understanding of a range of sporting activities
  • Experience or solid understanding of working as a technician in a school or educational establishment, undertaking a range of practical tasks
