Micheldever Tyres is looking for an Interim Payroll Specialist to provide maternity cover for 10 months. You will be an analytical thinker with a thorough understanding and love of payroll processes. Proven experience in payroll management, running a large and complex payroll including outsourced payroll and in-depth knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance, including HMRC legislation and reporting requirements is essential to this role.

Position: Payroll Specialist / Coordinator

Location: Micheldever Station, near Winchester

Salary up to £36,000K DOE pro-rata

Although this is a Hybrid position 1-2 days a week in the office, a degree of flexibility will be required around month end of other cut off periods. During your induction period, you will be required to attend the office at least 4 days.

Interview to take place as soon as possible with a view to an immediate start.

Reporting to the Head of Pay & Reward and working with the Payroll Administrator you will be responsible for:

  • Helping to maintain the payroll systems and preparing and uploading the monthly payroll to the portal. Capable of stepping up to complete the process from end-to-end including year-end processes (including P60 and P11d) as required.
  • Co-ordinate payroll data on a timely basis to feed into the payroll process.
  • Oversee the day to day work of the Payroll Administrator
  • Review new starter documentation for completion and accuracy
  • Process secondments, transfers, leavers and other amendments to salaries and employee data.

Do you have experience of

  • Legislation and government requirements such as Holiday Pay calculation changes
  • Working with external agencies in relation to court orders, mortgage references, Child Support Agency questionnaires
  • Reconciliation and submission of pension deduction data to Company pension providers
  • Liaising with external Pension Scheme Administration companies
  • Maintaining payroll records and systems
  • Providing payroll data to the Management Accounts
