Please note this is a fixed term contract opportunity until 30th June 2024.
 
In this role you will provide a high-quality payroll and a customer focused transactional service. Using a depth of business knowledge in dealing with a high volume of diverse transactions and working to strict deadlines. With responsibility for resolving payroll queries and performing an analytical processing role within one or more payroll disciplines.
 
You will provide support and resolutions quickly and efficiently at the first point of call. Our ethos is to provide advice, support and guidance that is simple, clear, efficient, and effective, this includes communication, terminology, and our processes
 
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of HMRC statutory absence legislation, also knowledge of tax, national insurance, LGPS and Teachers pension regulation contributions and system knowledge to undertake user acceptance testing.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate data input for payroll processing, including payments and deductions, in compliance with statutory and contractual requirements such as pension contributions. Provide support and guidance to employees on self-service options when necessary.
  • Resolve complex payroll queries promptly to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure timely processing.
  • Execute payroll processes to generate payments to employees and third parties, and prepare associated internal and external statutory reports.
  • Uphold the integrity and security of personal, contractual, and financial information in accordance with legislation and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to maintain high standards of work quality and ensure accurate outputs.
  • Address customer inquiries promptly and professionally through various communication channels, including customer portal, written correspondence, phone calls, or meetings.
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives, including system testing, to exceed customer expectations.
  • Work towards individual and team targets and objectives set within the performance management framework.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in payroll administration or related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications and payroll software.
  • Knowledge of statutory and contractual payroll requirements and regulations.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding data security standards.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex payroll queries efficiently.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
