Payroll Officer
We are working with a large well-known not-for-profit organisation to recruit for a Payroll Officer to join their busy payroll department
The successful post holder will provide high-quality payroll support to the busy payroll department through the checking and reporting within a monthly payroll of approximately 8,500 payees
Job Responsibilities:
- End to end payroll processing for all relevant payrolls for 8,500 payees
- Application of UK/Channel Islands/Isle of Man payroll legislation and all relevant organisation policies when undertaking payroll processing tasks
- Calculating and checking contractual pay changes that are processed by the HR Support Team referring to appropriate pay scales
- Checking, calculating, and inputting leaver details processed by the HR Support Team
- Calculate and enter holiday pay, pay in lieu of notice and other termination payments due to leavers
- Validate and check statutory payments and deductions
- Adhering to internal control requirements in line with agreed processes and audit compliance
- Responding to enquiries (by phone, email, online) from payees and payroll customers on a timely basis, demonstrating high levels of customer service
Person Specification:
- Good previous experience of working within in a large and complex payroll environment, preferably in the Charity sector (Essential)
- Oracle HCM system experience (Essential)
- Demonstrable experience of prioritising high volumes of payroll processing activities, ensuring total accuracy, and working within strict timelines
- Demonstrable strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information in a professional manner
- CIPP Qualified (Desirable)
- Up to date knowledge of IOM (ITIP and IOM NI) and Channel Island payroll (SI Soc Sec) legislation (Desirable)
Salary: £33k per annum
Contract Type: 6 month FTC
