  • Payroll Assistant (Maternity Cover) - Birmingham City Center
  • Salary: up to £24,000 per annum subject to experience
  • Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 Hours Per Week 12 month contract
The Payroll Assistant position is an exciting opportunity to join Off To Work and work alongside our vibrant team. We are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our team for maternity cover based in our Birmingham Office in the city center. You will be part of a small payroll team and will report to the Payroll Manager.

For the role of Payroll Assistant you would require strong administration skills and being an Excel guru is key. We can teach you the rest. We are looking for a candidate that can multitask and hit the ground running. Training will be provided, if necessary. Excellent communication skills, including fluency in spoken English and exceptional written English, are a must!
  
At Off to Work, we believe it's crucial for our office team to have a comprehensive understanding of our business and clients. Therefore, during our quieter periods, participation in fieldwork will be required.
 
Key responsibilities will include:
  1. Identifying and querying outstanding timesheets with our clients.
  2. Ensuring pay queries are addressed and dealt with.
  3. Payroll data checking and processing.
  4. Ensuring your region is closed and processed ready for payroll to be run in a timely manner.
  5. Enter data for invoice purposes and creation of staff in the system.
  6. Show a high level of discretion and integrity.  
  7. Report directly to the payroll and accounts departments, helping to enable amazing experiences for both our clients and casual team members.
  
Required Skills:
  1. The ability to work as part of a team.
  2. Excellent communication skills including fluency in spoken English and exceptional written English.
  3. Attention to detail and to be able to pick things up quickly.
  4. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  
Ideally you will have worked within a medium sized organisation and have highly effective communication
skills.
In addition, you'll be a confident individual who is not afraid of using your own initiative.
