Our client, an international business with impressive growth plans and a strong work hard, team culture, is looking to recruit a Payroll Assistant for a period of up to 6 months, with the possibility of extension for the right person. This is a fully office based role with working hours of 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, and the office is within walking distance of the station. You will be responsible for providing strong Payroll support for the company.

Payroll Assistant - About The Role

Managing the weekly and monthly payrolls, including:

  • Processing starters, leavers, and all contractional and statutory payments
  • Ensuring total compliance and right to work checks
  • The administration of auto enrolment and employee benefits
  • Dealing with all related payroll queries
  • Working on P&L queries and accounting journals
  • Process reviews
  • HMRC queries and requirements
  • Assisting with payroll projects and systems implementation
  • Customer contact when required

The successful Payroll Assistant will have/be:

  • Exceptional payroll knowledge and experience of working in a high volume environment
  • Highly organised and efficient with excellent communication skills
  • The ability to understand the business as a whole and liaise with all employees up to and including board level
  • Experience of payroll systems and advanced Excel are essential
  • Immediately available or on short notice
