This large, well respected Sunderland based public sector organisation have a need for an experienced Payroll Advisor to join them on an initial 18-month fixed term. Contract.

Your new role

Principal AccountabilitiesPayroll Processing - Process Payroll & Staffing data, including starters, changes and leavers, deductions and payments, mileage, expenses and overtime claims.
Calculate and process increments, pay awards and allowance changes in accordance with national and local agreements.
Process third party deductions as requested by outside agencies in accordance with Government regulations.
Staff records - Maintain accurate staff records to reflect changes in personal data that may affect payroll calculations, such as sickness and maternity leave.
Pensions - Assist in the administration of the Group's pension schemes in accordance with relevant legislation.
Provide accurate pension information for starters, leavers and current employees. Also provide pension estimates, too managers and colleagues.
Payroll Policy and Procedures - Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date set of policies and procedures in relation to Payroll.
Payroll data - Accurately collate and present payroll data as required.
Assist in the preparation of various payroll and staffing reports.
Assist in the provision of payroll accounting information.
Provide Government departments with staff payroll information when requested.
Relationship with HR - Maintain close working relationships with HR to ensure joined-up service delivery.
Compliance - Ensure all Payroll activities comply with all internal governance, statutory, legislative and regulatory requirements.
General advice - Giving advice relating to Payroll and Pension processes to managers and colleagues.

What you'll need to succeed
This level of role requires a proven track record in processing full end to end payroll and all associated administration.

What you'll get in return
This role is offered on an 18-month fixed term contract basis, working 36 hours per week, with flexible, hybrid working options available.
