We are partnering exclusively with a prestigious client to fill the role of Team Leader for their Banking Operations team. The successful candidate will lead the Head Office Banking team in processing a substantial volume of payments annually, overseeing numerous bank accounts. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, ensuring timely and accurate bank reconciliations while upholding confidentiality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and oversee a team to ensure the precise and punctual processing of payments and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain the integrity of the company's cash books by adhering to policies and meticulously reconciling bank statements.
  • Enforce strict security protocols for the handling of cash and cheques.
  • Manage the processing and approval of payments across various platforms and banking institutions.
  • Investigate and elevate queries and issues, liaising both internally and externally.
  • Lead the charge on month-end reconciliations, actively seeking out opportunities for process optimisation.
  • Prepare and authorise various payment types, such as Bacs, Faster Payments, and Priority payments.
  • Ensure departmental authorisation of payments aligns seamlessly with company policy.
  • Efficiently manage payment processing to ensure accuracy and meet crucial deadlines.
  • Handle cheque processing and redirect payments related to invoices to the appropriate department.
  • Register high-value payments with the Treasury Department and skillfully manage exchange rate requirements.
