Role: Patient referral call administrator

Pay : NHS Band 3 - £10.25 per hour

Opening Hours : Monday - Friday - Hours between 07:30 - 18:30

Hours: Full-time and part-time available

Contract : 12-weeks

Location: Bowthorpe Norwich

Job Description

The role of a patient referral call handler is extremely rewarding but can also be emotionally challenging. Some of the referrals you can expect to receive are from patient's families and healthcare professionals who are in end of life or going to start palliative care.

Your role is the start of their patient journey, and this involves taking referrals from patients / their families or their health carer and accurately recording their details and allocating them to the correct healthcare service.

This is done mostly over incoming calls, but you can also expect to receive referrals electronically from GPs.

Requirements & Skills Needed

  • Contact centre environment dealing with majority incoming calls from healthcare professionals and patients
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Processing patient referrals
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Handling sensitive data
  • Dealing with emotionally distressing calls at times
  • Excellent organisational skills
