We are currently recruiting for a Temp to Perm contract Pastry Chef for a Independent Girls' Day School based in W13

Job Details:

  • Working days: Term time only; 36 hours over 5 days per week; plus 10 days during school closure periods
  • Working Hours: 6am to 2pm daily, overtime paid if covering afterschool events
  • Salary Pro Rata: £22,051 - £24,297 depending on experience
  • Start Date: 29th August 2024

Job Purpose:

  • To work well in a team producing cakes, desserts and assisting with the main meal preparation for lunch service to 1000 pupils and staff
  • To produce food for service using fresh ingredients and cooking from scratch
  • Assist when necessary, in the planning, compiling and costing of menus
  • Assisting with daily deliveries and setup of daily events

Skills Required: 

  • We are looking for an experienced and well organised pastry chef with experience of working in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Good knowledge of catering health and safety requirements
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team and also on own initiative
  • Understanding of child protection issues
  • Knowledge of menu planning and costing, nutrition, and healthy eating
  • Basic IT skills, sufficient to maintain records send and receive messages (Microsoft Office)

certificate required:

  • NVQ Level 2 Catering qualification
  • NVQ Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • NVQ Level 3 General Health and Safety certificate
  • NVQ Level 2 Allergen Awareness
