Part-Time ER Advisor (30 Hrs) - 12 month FTC - Higher Education - Hertfordshire with hybrid working

This is an exciting opportunity for an immediately available HR professional with a strong knowledge of employment law.

Working closely with an HR Business Partner you will be responsible for managing your own ER case load. Your key accountabilities will include:-

  • Advising, guiding and supporting managers with employee relations issues from informal to first formal stages, including investigations
  • Managing people related issues such as contractual issues, disciplinaries, performance management and grievances
  • Supporting the HR Business Partners in delivering formal and informal workshops to managers
  • Contributing to HR policy development and project work
  • Working in partnership with Trade Union representatives, negotiating with them as and when necessary


You should be an ER or HR Advisor with a good knowledge of employment law gained working in the public sector. Experience of working with Trade Unions needs to be combined with a track record of providing effective advice and guidance to managers and managing employee relations including disciplinaries and grievances.
