Permanent, Part Time (17.5 hours per week)

They are currently recruiting for a Community Engagement Officer to cover the Stratford-upon-Avon, Cotswolds and West Oxfordshire area. As a Community Engagement Officer, you will be working closely with customers to build strong and safe communities organising and developing a wide range of community engagement activities and projects.

This is a part-time role working 17.5 hours per week.

What you can expect from the role

You will work within the community to establish contact with individuals and groups from all sections of the community through meetings and outreach work to identify local issues and to work together on solutions.

By understanding the needs of the local communities, you will be able to support and manage community-based programmes to promote a healthy and happy environment for all their customers. You will be responsible for organising and developing a wide range of community engagement activities in line with their strategic objectives.

Teamwork is key to everything they do, and they believe those teams don’t just include themselves and their customers but a range of organisations, as well as working with these partners including local authorities and community partners & stakeholders.

What they are looking for in you

  • Previous experience working within a community-based role or role that was directly involved in supporting projects and programmes designed to help people and communities grow.

  • Be a people person, communication will be key to this role not only for working with their customers but also for working with external stakeholders.

  • Understand some of the unique challenges faced within social housing and understand their beliefs and values as an organisation.

  • Proven ability to actively identify new ways to engage successfully with customers and communities.

  • Experience of empowering communities to find solutions would be advantageous.

  • Due to the nature of the role the successful applicant will have a DBS check carried out before commencing employment.

The successful applicant will also need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle. Whilst part of the role will be home-based you will be expected to regularly travel to the communities within the Stratford-upon-Avon, Cotswolds and West Oxfordshire area.
