This is fantastic opportunity to join a busy, reputable and growing practice based in Hove as a Part Qualified Accountant.

Job purpose:

To prepare accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships, rental accounts and limited companies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare sole trader and partnership accounts and self-assessment tax returns from prime records on Iris software
  • Prepare rental accounts and self-assessment tax returns from prime records on Iris software or excel spreadsheets where appropriate.
  • Prepare limited company accounts and corporation tax returns on Iris software from prime records for review by a Partner.
  • Prepare VAT returns from prime records on Sage or excel spreadsheets where appropriate.
  • Liaise directly with clients to obtain the necessary information to complete company accounts and tax returns and VAT returns in a timely manner to meet filing and payment deadlines.
  • Assist Partners with audit work which will frequently be carried out at client premises.

Experience and Skills required:

  • Accounting qualification AAT/PQ ACCA/ACA
  • Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping is essential.
  • Experience of Accounts prep within a Practice.
  • Good knowledge of Tax preparation, self assessments, tax returns
  • Clear communication both written and verbally
  • Organised and Methodical
  • A real team player, always looking at ways you can support your co-members and clients
  • Must have a full UK driving licence
