Overview

Our client is dedicated to improving the financial wellbeing of its clients by developing comprehensive financial planning and investment strategies tailored to individual objectives. 

Role

As a Paraplanner, your role is to provide vital support that encompasses research, report writing, quotations, and preparation of suitability reports for the financial advisers you assist. With a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an IFA (Independent Financial Adviser) environment, you will demonstrate exceptional technical knowledge across all financial planning areas. You should also possess a keen awareness of current markets and industry regulations, along with the proactive attitude needed to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

General Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare suitability reports and letters within specified deadlines.
  • Ensure all client work adheres to compliance standards and is accompanied by the requisite documentation.
  • Conduct comparative research to facilitate client recommendations.
  • Perform technical research as part of the existing arrangement review process.
  • Engage in tax planning analysis.
  • Produce and analyze cashflow models.
  • Gain insights into clients' overall financial positions through IFA fact-finding.
  • Collaborate with relevant IFAs to determine and gather necessary client information for suitability checks.
  • Investigate and provide accurate responses to client queries.
  • Conduct annual reviews in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain compliance with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and relevant FCA rules.
  • Adhere to company compliance, TCF (Treating Customers Fairly), T&C (Training and Competence), and financial crime (anti-money laundering, data security, anti-bribery, fraud, and corruption) procedures.
  • Stay current with product, legislative, and technical changes.
  • Achieve and sustain a required level of competence.
  • Uphold performance standards as mandated by the firm.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date recording of relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial products and services.
  • Adhere to company and compliance standards and procedures.
  • Assess suitability in line with client goals.
  • Apply strong analytical skills to analyze financial records and provide detailed technical commentary.
  • Possess excellent literacy skills, including the ability to draft professional, clear reports.
  • Operate autonomously and effectively manage workload.

Individual Attributes

  • Level 4 diploma qualified preferred - OR a minimum of 5 years Paraplanning if career Paraplanner with no qualifications. 
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Self-motivated, efficient, thorough, and forward-thinking.
  • Maintain a professional, proactive, and positive attitude with the ability to multitask.
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet agreed-upon deadlines.

  • Exemplary accuracy and attention to detail.
