A Technical Paint Sprayer is required for our manufacturing client based in Stourbridge, West Midlands.

My client is a manufacturer of primarily pressure vessels and filtration combined with related products. They are a leading supplier into the gas, oil and nuclear industries and are looking for a Paint Sprayer to join their team.

The paint sprayer will be an integral member of the team, ideally with will have experience in manufacturing, industrial or heavy industry.

You would be ideally vocationally qualified, apprenticeship or equivalent. I.Corr, NACE, Frosio qualifications would be advantageous but not essential in first instance, however successful candidates would be encouraged and supported to obtain such qualifications.

Awareness of the importance of Quality Control following strictly procedures and job specific specifications and have the ability to read and follow job specific procedures and client specifications.

Please be aware this is a technical role and will require experience of mixing oil-based paints and the use of thinners.

Job Role:
  • To prepare company's products for surface preparation and painting.
  • To mix and prepare paint for painting/coating processes.
  • To prepare, maintain and clean painting equipment including inspection equipment.
  • To paint/coat company's products to correct specifications and procedures.
  • Check and inspect applied painting systems.
  • Record and report test results and environmental conditions during the painting process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To carry out preparation work, including sanding, filling, and masking.
  • To maintain work and paint storage areas.
  • To maintain all painting equipment and plant including inspection equipment.
  • To record and monitor environmental conditions before and during the painting/coating process.
  • To spray/coat the company's products to high levels of quality and compliance to procedures and specifications.
  • To check and continuously monitor wet and dry film thickness.
  • To carry out any required testing such as salt tests, PH, pin hole testing, coating adhesion testing etc.
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, and Environmental issues and legislation.
  • To carry out such additional duties as may become necessary from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the production of the company's products.

  • Must have strong attention to detail and be personally committed to high standard of workmanship and output.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work without supervision.
  • Must be able and willing to work as a team player.
  • Must be diligent, enthusiastic and retain integrity even when working in extreme pressurised conditions.
  • Must be flexible and well organized and adopt good housekeeping principles.
  • Must have good eyesight and colour co-ordination.
Hours of work: 6.00 am - 2.00 pm Friday.
Salary: C£11.50 p/h DOE

Holiday Entitlement: 21 days annual leave, plus statutory Bank holidays and Christmas shutdown.
