Harmonic are thrilled to be working alongside one of the UK's most purpose and values led charities, in the search for their next Finance Director. This role will offer a 12-month fixed term contract and will be on a 2/3 day a week basis.
This is a truly fantastic opportunity for senior finance professionals who place emphasis on environmental sustainability, wanting to work for an organisation that are making a real difference within their space.
The Client:
The business was founded by a CEO who has been ever present since the organisation's inception 5 years ago. With a focus on addressing some of the biggest issues affecting the planet, our client places an emphasis on working collaboratively with planet-committed originations, utilising consumer brands, sports and entertainment as a way to communicate to their audiences. They are keen to take practical steps to reduce carbon pollution, with a view to delivering solutions at scale.
The organisation is a global community, initiated by a diverse range of businesses across the globe. Some of the key initiatives include working with sports broadcasters, leading music industry businesses and brands such as Unilever and Pinterest to leverage the power of social media. The power of our client is clear, and they are making a real difference in the fight for our planet.
The Role:
This position will be taking over from an incredible senior finance professional, leaving the role after a highly successful stint. As such, there are strong processes and systems in place, with the nature of this role being highly commercially focused, with regular business partnering and leading on strategy involved with the board and the senior leadership team.
This opportunity will suit experienced candidates with strong problem solving skills, that can work to tight deadlines to a high standard. The ideal candidate will have their own passion for dealing with climate change, and will have the gravitas to work closely and comfortably with the directors of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely alongside CEOs and SLT on future financial planning and strategy of the business,
- Serving as leader for both the finance and legal teams of the organisation,
- Leading the shared service team, including on the budgeting, management accounts, financial reporting and audits across the international offices,
- Leading on people and culture and contributing to and developing the internal team culture
- Analysing the financial weaknesses and strength, whilst proposing corrective actions.
- Financial planning - preparing annual budgets, tracking costs and revenue, long-term planning for financial sustainability.
- Business planning including ensuring KPIs are set across all teams.
- Overseeing the UK, US and India entities acting as a formal company director.
What we need to see (required):
- Prior experience as the number one in finance
- Strong, outward facing personality, comfortable business partnering with board level
- ACCA / ACA / CIMA Fully Qualified
What we'd like to see (bonus):
- Experience in the Charity / not for profit sector
Salary: £100k - £110k FTE (Pro rated to 2/3 days)
