You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

An Assistant Manager will have responsibility for a portfolio of client work reporting directly to the Senior Manager/Partner. This will include all aspects of service delivery from client take on to management reporting and client meetings.You will also provide input into the delivery of services to our larger more complex clients as required.

In addition to client facing work you will also work to provide support to the Manager/Director on departmental issues including resourcing, coaching and feedback to more junior members of staff, ensuring compliance with the stream’s policies and procedures and the firm’s risk management procedures.

A key part of the role is also to actively seek, and keep the Senior Manager/Partner informed about any new business opportunities arising at existing and new clients as well as taking a proactive part in business development activities such as tender production, networking, and actively promoting all BS&A service lines.

The Reading BSO team are responsible managing their client relationships and will be their first point of contact for their advisory needs.

We produce high quality management information, providing the role of a professional, trusted business advisor. Working closely with the wider BDO One Advisory network, we help clients to navigate an exceptional range of challenges, risks, changes, and opportunities.

You’ll be someone with:

  • Qualified ACCA or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting packages such as Xero
  • Experience and good working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102
  • Experience of managing client assignments
