Outreach Tutor – SEMH
Are you a qualified teacher looking for a tutoring opportunity to tutor students who have struggled to engage in education?
This role requires a teacher who has excellent understanding of safeguarding and who is comfortable delivering  functional skills sessions on a 1-2-1 basis to students with anxiety, school refusers, and barriers to communication. You will be working with 4 or 5 students each day, supporting them in their learning and encouraging them to reengage with education.

As an outreach tutor you will receive excellent support from an experienced headteacher who is passionate about giving every child a second chance.  Strong behaviour management and communication skills are essential. This role requires a qualified teacher who is a driver as you will be required to travel between locations, including the school, library and students’ homes.

Job Role:
  • Teaching core subjects to Key Stage 4 students on a 1-2-1 basis for up to an hour at a time, helping them to reengage in education
  • Tailoring lessons to suit needs and abilities of individual students
  • Ensuring that all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed
  • Supporting children with anxiety and SEMH needs with their studies
  • Delivering tuition within homes of students
  • Attending daily briefings and debriefs on site
