.Job Title:        Outreach Teacher

Location:         Glebedale School, Stoke-on-Trent

Salary:             Up to £38,000 per annum

Hours:             37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract:         Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Outreach Teacher to join our close-knit team. 

About the role  

Preparing and delivering academic and pastoral activities to KS3 and KS4 SEND pupils mainly outside of the school site or within pupils’ homes.

Skills & Experience

  • The role will involve regular travel within Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire, therefore, the ability to drive with access to a car is essential.
  • Experience of teaching pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Recognised Teaching Qualification required (QTS/QTLS/PTLLS etc)
  • Good standard of English and Maths – at least Grade 4 or above

Key Responsibilities

  • To work closely with the school’s SLT to gain a thorough understanding of individual pupils in your caseload, plan effective strategies and set appropriate targets.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver activities for pupils to enable them to make progress according to their learning pathways, including Maths and English.
  • To liaise with subject leaders to ensure planned activities meet the needs of pupils.
  • To be accountable for pupil progress and development of pupils within your caseload.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the professional duties of teachers. 
  • Be a role model of professionalism and good practice.
  • Establish effective working relationships with pupils and parents/carers.
