Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a successful manufacturing business in Barnsley as they look to recruit a Operations Finance Business Partner into the finance team.

Reporting to the Head of Finance with a dotted line to the Operations Director, the Operations FBP works as part of a cross-disciplinary team and is central to the effective operation of the company. 

This role will help to improve business performance by providing timely and relevant information and analysis to the management team in order to make informed decisions that contribute to the effective operation of the business.

It will be a varied role with duties to include: - 

  • Prepare weekly P&L and provide financial insights
  • Ownership of weekly and monthly reporting and balance sheet maintenance of raw materials including price variance and waste costs
  • Review and challenge product costings with operations teams, and explain cost drivers to operational and commercial teams
  • Business partner with senior staff to forecast, monitor and control direct labour and raw material costs
  • Proactively engage with operations team to influence value added change and ensure responsibility and accountability is in the right place
  • Assist in control and audit of financial processes throughout the site

The ideal candidate will possess the following key attributes, skills, and experience:-

  • CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA Qualified (Part Qualified will also be considered)
  • Manufacturing experience, preferably FMCG would be desirable although not essential 
  • Strong Excel skills with experience of working with and validating multiple sources of data
  • PowerPoint skills – ability to present financial information
  • Ability to work independently at pace and make judgement calls where necessary
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to nonfinancial staff
  • System Implementation would be beneficial
