Operations Director

My client is an automotive service provider for retail car dealerships, auction centres and vehicle rental organisations. Turning over £54m+ per annum, this successful business has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Director to join the senior leadership team. The ideal candidate will help shape the future growth of the business and will share in the business success.

You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, providing excellent customer service delivery across the UK, measured through a comprehensive Net Promoter Score programme. You will report into the MD on all strategic and tactical matters relating to the operational needs of the business.

Build strong relationships internally and with key decision makers and influencers in our existing customer base. You will also be responsible for embracing challenges to enhance service delivery to our valued customers.

You will lead your team to ensure that the business exceeds operational requirements in all aspects of customer service delivery; ensure compliance with all legal requirements including employment law, Health and Safety; and operate in a manner that mitigates any potential reputational risk to the business. You will manage and monitor daily operations across retail and trade divisions. You will be instrumental in developing business relationships with existing and new accounts ensuring that they are aligned to the business strategy

You will be involved in managing the P&L and delivering the business objectives; achieving results required within business plans which will include reporting on the company’s performance; drive and share best practice across the business; adapt to the changes required by the senior leadership team; ensure that processes and systems are developed and enhanced; meeting all set KPIs and achieving targets.

Essential Skills:

• 4+ years’ of operational management experience both strategically and operationally within the automotive sector
• Resourceful, proactive and can multitask
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills
• Can work under pressure
• Demonstrate initiative and have a passion for providing exceptional service to customers.
• Detail orientated and extremely organised.
