Operations Director - Utilities

We are currently working in partnership with a leading tier one utility company. The position will involve working on established utility contracts. These include high volume, low value framework agreements and capital works projects with a turnover in excess of £80M per annum.

As Operations Director you will be working with a strong senior management team, providing vital support to the CEO. This role offers long term security within a growing business and a flexible hybrid working environment.

Key Essentials

* As Operations Director you will be responsible for overseeing a senior operations, planning, reinstatement and streetworks team for capital works and high volume, low value contracts with a turnover in excess of £80M per annum

* Ultimate responsibility for the programming of works, ensuring that the client is kept updated and that all required resource is available and in-place

* Ensure that the company is adhering to and is compliant with SHEQ guidelines

* Working closely and providing operational support to the commercial team

* Acting as a key point of contact to clients, overseeing a heat map of issues and resolving

* Understanding contract(s) scope and any potential new opportunities

* Management and delegation with staff and contractors across all departments

* Performance management and process improvement to ensure efficient project operations

* Management and reporting on internal KPI's

* Ensure that systems are being used compliantly with correct processes carried out

* Overview of delivery risk management, ensuring that this is adequately covered with any opportunities maximised

* Demonstrating performance and identifying improvements

Requirements

* Previous experience operating at a senior level on utility high volume, low value works for a tier one company with values in excess of £80M per annum is essential

* Excellent commercial, programme and performance management skills

* Good communication and organisational skills with the ability to delegate at all levels across various departments
