Onsite IT manager

We are representing a prominent Technology Services Provider, specialising in Professional and Managed Services across EMEA. With a team of over 500 consultants, they offer expertise in hybrid infrastructure, cybersecurity, Cisco solutions, modern engineering, telecommunications, and core systems.

Job Purpose:

The Onsite IT Manager will oversee all aspects of IT systems and infrastructure at the physical location. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to ensure smooth IT operations, security adherence, and effective end-user support.

Duties And Responsibilities:

System Administration

• Manage and maintain all on-site IT systems, including servers and networks.
• Monitor system performance to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Network Security

• Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and systems.
• Analyse and report communication systems as directed by management.

Technical Support

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site IT support requests.
• Train and support end-users on IT tools and systems.
• Provide helpdesk support for all employees during office hours.

IT Project Management

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee projects such as system upgrades and network expansion.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet standards.

General

• Ensure daily backup of vital business data as per company policies.
• Assist in onboarding and offboarding employees regarding IT and Facilities.
• Offer ongoing training on internal systems as required.
• Research and recommend new systems for IT infrastructure improvement.
• Liaise with third parties for maintenance and safety matters.

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience in an IT management role.
• Degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• Strong technical expertise in system administration, networking, and security.
• Proficiency with various operating systems, hardware, and software applications.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
• Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Microsoft Certified System).
