Location: Norwich

Contract Type: Locum ongoing contract

Pay Rate: £25 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Responsible for supporting referrals for the area you are assigned to, carrying-out comprehensive assessments and developing perinatal specialist mental health care plans.
  • They will monitor and support women during the pregnancy or at post-natal stages, maintain strong links and communication with health providers such as Community Midwives, Specialist Midwives, Health Visitors and other professionals.
  • To plan care programme approach (CPA) reviews.
  • To attend and cover key functions in the team,- duty, team huddles, team meeting, buddy support/lone working.
  • Provide support to your colleagues with complex cases, escalating concerns to Safeguarding partners and ensuring that safety plans are in place for high-risk service users.
  • Keep up to date with specific specialist perinatal research.
  • Undertake the planning and delivery of direct patient care with minimal supervision, ensuring continuity of practice and working within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
  • Managing a caseload and the provision of mental health care services to people with mental health care need.
  • To be responsible for accurate recording of mental health records of all patients on admission, discharge and at review.
  • To work within the multi-disciplinary team and to form working partnerships with other care providers.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist
  • Recent NHS experience
  • Registered with the HCPC
