Role Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant who holds RECOG (Recognition of Completion of Training) status to join our esteemed team. As a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive and high-quality care to patients, contributing to the development of clinical standards, and providing leadership within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical care and leadership in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, including antenatal and postnatal care, labour ward management, and gynaecological surgeries.
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical audits to ensure optimal patient care and service delivery.
- Mentor, supervise, and support junior medical staff, including Specialty Registrars, Junior Doctors, and Medical Students, in their professional development and training.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies, protocols, and guidelines to enhance patient safety, quality of care, and clinical outcomes.
- Engage in teaching and training activities for medical students, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals, fostering a culture of excellence in medical education and training.
- Participate in research and audit projects within the department, contributing to evidence-based practice, innovation, and continuous improvement in clinical care.
Requirements:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice in the UK.
- Completion of speciality training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and attainment of RECOG (Recognition of Completion of Training) status.
- Extensive experience and expertise in obstetric and gynaecological care, including advanced surgical skills and management of complex cases.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to continuous professional development, clinical excellence, and evidence-based practice.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, clinical decision-making skills, and a patient-centred approach to care.
