We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Obs & Gynae) Specialty Trainee (ST3) to join our team. As an ST3 trainee in Obs & Gynae, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and clinical services under the supervision of experienced consultants. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to further develop their skills and knowledge in obstetrics and gynaecology and progress towards a career as a specialist in this field.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care to patients under the supervision of consultant obstetricians and gynaecologists.
  • Participate actively in the management of antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, including conducting obstetric assessments, performing deliveries, and managing obstetric emergencies.
  • Assist in the diagnosis and management of gynaecological conditions, including outpatient clinics, surgical procedures, and inpatient care.
  • Attend and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and clinical audits to review patient cases and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
  • Take responsibility for the accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, clinical findings, treatment plans, and interventions in electronic medical records.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including attendance at relevant educational events, courses, and training sessions to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Adhere to clinical governance and patient safety protocols and maintain high standards of professional conduct and ethical practice at all times.

Requirements:
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
  • Completion of Foundation Year 2 (FY2) training or equivalent experience in obstetrics and gynaecology.
  • Demonstrated interest and commitment to pursuing a career in obstetrics and gynaecology, with a strong foundation in basic clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties and work flexible hours as required by the training program.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in training and assessment activities as part of the Specialty Training (ST3) curriculum.
