Room Supervisor

Permanent Full Time

Expected hours: Monday – Friday 40 per week

Salary: £25251.20 per annum - £12.14 per hour

Location: Sandbach, Cheshire

Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work

We are recruiting for a Nursery Room Supervisor for our client in Sandbach, Cheshire.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Ensuring correct management and supervision of designated room,• Providing full care of children i.e. ensuring that all their physical needs (food & personal hygiene) and rights are met,• To ensure children are safely delivered to parents and carers and or named individuals,• Providing safe, creative, appropriate play/ learning opportunities with a safe, caring and stimulating environment,• Responsible of promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children,• Assisting the Manager & / or Deputy, when requiredwith day-to-day administration, record keeping, ordering, and purchasing of materials and equipment,• To administer First Aid, as appropriate,• Liaise with and encourage parental involvement and support of the nursery,• Deal appropriately with any concern they may have,• Liaise where required with multi-professional,• Liaise, when required, with Ofsted, Cheshire East Council Families and Children Team etc,• To keep up to date with relevant news / legislation,• Attend meetings and training as appropriate,• Carrying out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunity framework,• Working within Apples & Pears policies and procedures,• To be fully coherent with the Revised EYFS Framework and working with the Manager and other personnel ensure they are fully adhered to,• To work with the Manager in trying to achieve all relevant quality assurance schemes,• Any other duties as may be reasonably expected of the post holder.

Requirements:

• Qualified NVQ Level 3 NNEB, B-Tec,• At least 2 years’ experience of working in a responsible position in a childcare setting,• An understanding of top-quality childcare and willingness to continuously improve standards. · A commitment to equal opportunities,• Ability to provide and facilitate safe, creative play and learning,• Ability to communicate at all levels,• Ability to lead, motivate and involve staff,• Ability to work on your own initiative,• Ability to use judgment and common sense,

Desirable for the post:

• A current first aid certificate,• Level 1 Certificate in Basic Safeguarding Awareness,• A current, clean driving license,• A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate,• Manual Handling Certificate,
