Nursery Manager

Job Overview:

As a Nursery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of young minds. You’ll lead a dedicated team, fostering children’s development in inspiring environments. Your passion for early childhood education and exceptional leadership skills will be essential in creating a nurturing and enriching experience for both children and staff.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and manage a highly motivated and professional team.
    • To ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
    • Create a positive and inclusive work environment.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies and procedures, including child protection issues and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies.
    • Collaborate with parents, staff, and external agencies.
  2. Childcare and Education:
    • Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum, taking responsibility for the planning to ensure each child is working towards the early learning goals.
    • To organise and participate in the key person system.
    • Foster a love for learning through creative and engaging activities.
    • Promote a safe and stimulating environment.
  3. Staff Development:
    • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to staff.
    • Conduct staff appraisals and address any concerns/staff training needs.
    • Encourage continuous professional development.
  4. Parent and Community Engagement:
    • Build strong relationships with parents and families.
    • Organize parent meetings, events, and workshops.
    • Collaborate with local community resources.
  5. Financial Management:
    • To support with the management of budgets, resources, and financial planning.
    • Ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
  • Experience in a leadership role within an early-years setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
  • Passion for child development and education.

Additional Information:

  • Location: Newcastle upon Tyne (NE15)
  • Salary: Com£14-£15 per hour based on experience.
  • Hours: Full-time position – 40 hours per week across 5 days.
  • Start Date: Immediate/As soon as possible
