Reed Education Southampton are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to fulfil a permanent role within a local Nursery, based in Gillingham.

As a small nursery, their dedicated and passionate staff are able to cater for all the needs of the children who attend, whilst providing support when needed whilst encouraging independence. With family orientated play sessions, the pre-school, toddlers and babies are joined together as a ‘family unit’ helping them to share, co-operate and learn through their play and by using each other as a role model. They provide excellent growth opportunities to children allowing them to be create and inquisitive within activities and play, as well as working together along with the nursery staff to ensure the nursery is a safe and supportive environment for all who attend.

As the Deputy Manager of the Nursery, you will ensure that all matters with staff, children and parents are kept confidential, and information you have been made aware of is not shared. You will ensure that before informing parents of events, you gain advice from either the Area Manager or the owner. You will be liaising with the Area Manager and Owner over staff rotas, including holidays and absence, as well as liaising with staff over organising staff cover for absence.

Other responsibilities include:

- To manage new enquiries – Book viewings, go through Registration Form filling and organise Taster Days/Assessments.

- Dealing with children's bookings, sending out welcome information to new parents, and organising new children with uniforms and bags.

- Ensure correct staff ratios are adhered to at all times, and ensure minimum number of staff for children attending. Organise lunchtime cover.

- Prepare for Ofsted inspections, notify staff and parents of any planned Ofsted inspections, and notifying parents of the outcomes of the inspections. You will also lead the Ofsted inspections at the nursery.

The salary for this role is currently set at £13.25 per hour, with flexible hours (Hours must cover core opening times of 9-5pm).

For this role, you will be/will need:

- At least NVQ Level 3 in Childcare plus experience managing a setting

- Driver preferred

- Good Communication skills, and professional manner

- Passionate about working with children
