Job Title: No2 Lithographic Printer

Location: Staffordshire

Hours: Double day shifts

o Earlies (Week 1)

Monday - Thursday 6:00am to 1.25pm Friday 6.00am to 1.00pm

o Lates (Week 2):

Monday - Thursday 1.20pm to 9.00pm Friday 12.55pm to 6.55pm

Salary: Dependent On Experience

Holiday: 25 days' holiday + Bank Holidays off - Free parking on site

About my Client:

My client is one of the top UK manufacturers of printed Packaging and Patient Information Leaflets, with a strong heritage of providing specialist packaging services to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. Now looking to expand their team they're searching for No2 Lithographic Printers to join the company.

Key responsibilities of a No2 Lithographic Printer:

  • Operate Komori 6 colour press with in-line coater and appropriate dry systems
  • Ensure all Work Ticket instructions and job specifics are followed and correct materials used
  • Produce high quality printed products and be accountable for own work
  • Utilise skills and experience to maximise production output
  • Liaise where necessary with internal departments to ensure jobs are produced correctly and on time
  • Carry out routine maintenance of press as per manufacturer's recommended guidelines to ensure safe and efficient machine operation
  • Supervise the activities of other team members working on the press. Provide clear guidance and instruction where required to ensure safe working practices and smooth running of production
  • Ensure SOP's and company procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Assist the printer with all aspects of press make ready, operation and wash-up
  • Responsible for continually loading the press feeder with board and keeping the press delivery clear
  • Operate the Feeder Non-Stop Pile changing system and also adjust and set the feeder head, in-feed and feeder mechanisms where necessary, to ensure efficient operation of the press feeder
  • Follow the make ready protocol procedure ensuring correct plates and materials are in position for the next job
  • Assist and/or carry out routine maintenance of press as per manufacturer's recommended guidelines to ensure safe and efficient machine operation
  • Maintain stock level of press cleaning consumables and associated systems
  • At job completion, return any unused materials and dispose of any waste as per company procedure
  • Ensure the press and surrounding area is kept clean and tidy
  • Ensure adherence at all times to the Company's Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures and maintain compliance to appropriate standards

Key skills needed for a No2 Lithographic Printer:

  • Must be a fully qualified Lithographic Printer, fully conversant with all aspects of Carton printing
  • A good decision maker; able to work without supervision; able to assess and solve day to day print production issues
  • Must have excellent communication skills and able to work as part of a team
  • Able to understand and follow job specifications with a high attention to detail
  • Able to follow instructions to operate equipment safely

Experience required for a No2 Lithographic Printer:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of operating 6 colour Litho press, with at least 3 years UV Carton Printing or similar Packaging Manufacturing experience
  • Mathematics and English GCSE level or equivalent
