Legal Compliance Officer - Quality Cardiff Firm

My Client are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to develop and implement an effective legal compliance program for the firm.

Requirements:

• You will have 2 plus years relevant experience in a compliance role
• Candidates with significantly more experience from other fields would be considered
• You must be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge and technical expertise in risk management and our industry standard
• Knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, or AML)
• You will have a drive to succeed and provide excellent client service
• You will be a go getter and have a 'can do’ attitude
• You will possess strong commercial awareness as well as strong integrity and professional ethics
• You should be a reliable professional who is not afraid to speak their mind and stand by their decisions

Job role:

• Your goal will be to ensure the firm operate in a legal and ethical manner while meeting their business objectives
• Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program
• Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
• Ensuring maintenance of all records and registers as required by the SRA
• Communicating with the SRA as required
• Collaborate with external auditors and HR when needed
• Responding to day to day queries from the firm’s fee earners
• Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices
• Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance.
