The Marketing and Sales team at Calor Gas are looking to recruit an engaging and proactive Network Sales Professional

To protect and deliver volume and margin growth for our Cylinder Distribution Centre (CDC) sites through converting sales opportunities, managing margins, retaining customers and the production and fulfilment of local commercial plans. The role will be accountable for the commercial performance and local profitability of the CDC sites (Calor direct cylinder business) within their remit, working closely with the operational site lead and the broader cylinder network.

The NSP, CDC commercial lead will have both growth targets, margin targets and retention targets to align to the growth strategy of the broader cylinder network to ensure overall network profitability.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver growth and retention through ensuring setting objectives and targets for growth and ensuring these are achieved for the CDCs in the area.
  • Utilise systems and technology and automation to maximize commercial performance and sales efficiency e.g.utilising benefits of the new CRM, margin management and pricing tools and lead identification software and metrics.
  • Ensure robust retention and growth through the development, completion & implementation of business plan and ongoing review in coordination with the broader cylinder network.
  • To manage and improve CDC gross margin performance, through an approach of selectivity and targeted pricing initiatives.
  • To be accountable for CDC commercial and profitability performance in your area.
  • Achieve targets and objectives with regards availability (including cylinder stock utilisation, CRA income, cages, and delivery charges). Through working with the asset team achieve clear objectives regarding availability and ensure this at the forefront of commercial customer mindset and outputs.
  • Optimise the CDC customer base through managing renegotiations and change of owners (whilst considering Simplification Project)
  • Ensure key CDC customers are contractually secure with new agreements being signed and renewed as required.
  • Optimise revenue and margin streams by implementing pricing strategies and processes as agreed with the Commercial Effectiveness team.
  • Implementation of data led sales campaigns, specifically to winback lost cylinder business in coordination with cylinder availability and insight from operational CDC site lead.
  • Ensure continuous pipeline management through the production and implementation of acquisition opportunities.
  • Ensure you act in a Safe and responsible manner, whilst enforcing a true and effective Safety Culture within the broader cylinder network.

As such we would like you to have/be:

  • Preferred 3 years experience within the LPG cylinder business and the cylinder network in particular.
  • Proven negotiation and selling skills to B2B and B2C customers.
  • Experience of developing, agreeing and implementing strategic business plans to drive performance.
  • Numerate and able to recognise commercial and customer trends in large data sets
  • Proven negotiating and customer management skills to enable change.
  • Excellent communication skills, numerical, interpersonal skills &, analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and computer literate.
