JOB PURPOSE

To provide intensive mentoring support to young people and adults aged 16 - 29 years in accessing and maintaining a positive destination into employment, education and training..

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • To undertake outreach activity to access and provide support to unemployed young adults in particular those 'hard to reach' and far from the labour market.
  • Support young adults to access appropriate support agencies
  • Support young adults to access education, employment and training and offering one to one practical support from the point of engagement through the application and enrolment stage and whilst on a programme.
  • Working closely with providers and partner organisations to ensure that they understand and meet the needs of the participants
  • Liaise with providers in inspiring and motivating participants within a structured environment.
  • Work with a caseload of young adults including recording of support interventions, progress and monitoring around progressions
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure a clear plan to address individual participant needs is in place.
  • Mentor and work closely with participants to ensure access and engagement with support provision that is put in place.
  • Make use of ICT for the recording of any interventions with participants, opportunity providers and support organisations
