Are you a versatile trades person with a core NVQ qualification looking for an exciting opportunity in social housing? We're seeking a skilled and adaptable Multi-Trade Operative to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and improvement of our housing properties.
Role Overview: As a Multi-Trade Operative in our social housing team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our properties. From conducting repairs and installations to performing general maintenance tasks, you'll utilise your expertise in your core trade while also demonstrating proficiency in additional trades as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake a variety of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks in social housing properties, utilising your core trade skills (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical, etc.) as well as proficiency in other trades.
- Respond promptly and effectively to repair requests, completing tasks efficiently and to a high standard while minimising disruption to residents.
- Conduct routine inspections of properties, identifying issues and recommending appropriate courses of action to address maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate work schedules, prioritise tasks, and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked, adhering to organisational procedures and reporting requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, communicating effectively and addressing their concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Requirements:
- Core NVQ qualification in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical, etc.), supplemented by additional certifications or training in related trades.
- Proven experience in a multi-trade or general maintenance role, preferably within the social housing sector or a similar environment.
- Versatility and proficiency in multiple trades, with the ability to perform tasks ranging from basic repairs to more complex installations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to resolve maintenance issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach, with the ability to interact positively with residents and colleagues.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to various housing properties within the organisation's jurisdiction.
