Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing’s Maintenance division has been exclusively retained to manage a recruitment campaign for our client Orchid Orthopaedic based in the heart of Sheffield’s manufacturing community. 

Orchid Orthopaedic Solutions is a worldwide leader in design and manufacturing for the orthopaedic and medical device markets, including joint reconstruction, spine, trauma, sports medicine, extremities and dental. With 14 world-class facilities located around the globe, Orchid continues to provide others with an opportunity to live a better life through the products, services and the way the company conducts business.

Their Sheffield facility based off the Sheffield Parkway comprises a Forge, Foundry and CNC Machining and Finishing processes. It employs approximately 300 people and focuses on joint reconstruction, in particular knee and hip joints and also the instruments required to fit the medical device parts.

They currently have positions available for Multi-skilled Maintenance Technicians to support the site Operations team by ensuring that key assets are maintained both proactively and reactively to optimise their running time and performance. 

Although experience in these areas would be an advantage, they are also looking for enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn and develop their career.

They are looking for individuals with experience or a desire to work in the following role;

Multi-skilled Maintenance Technicians

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work safely, within guidance, training, instruction and risk assessments
  • Carry out remedial work on any and all plant and equipment
  • Breakdowns, Health and Safety issues, Corrective works from CMMS.
  • Identifying replacement parts as required
  • Working with OEMs and 3rd party service agents
  • Carry out proactive Maintenance on the plant
  • Scheduled and condition based preventative maintenance from CMMS
  • Reviewing activity checklists and procedures to improve effectiveness

Key Skills:

  • Fault finding in electrical/electronic/pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read schematics and mechanical assy. drawings
  • Working knowledge of drives, motors, invertors etc
  • Working knowledge of temperature and other process controllers
  • Working knowledge of safety circuits, components and architecture
  • A good grounding in mechanical diagnostics and repairs

Working Hours: 

Monday – Friday (Days, Afters and Nights)

Salary: 

£48,824 + up to 5% bonus
