Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician Electrically biased

Job Title: Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrically biased)
Location: Blackwood
Salary: £48,000 per annum

Hours: Full time. 4 on 4 off 12 hours shifts covering Days & Nights

Here at The Recruitment Co we are currently recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrically Biased) to work for a customer on a full time and permanent contract.

Main Job Roles:

• To adhere to all company guidelines and policies as laid out in terms of contract.
• Communication - To ensure an adequate report of each and every shift is communicated to relevant departmental heads, providing details of breakdowns and necessary improvements..
• To review and maintain an adequate stock of spares to ensure that Production machines/services are always available
• Development / Training - to actively undertake training for self-development, assist with training of the Production team members in the efficient and safe operation of the plant.
• Support - to operate with a degree of flexibility providing support where necessary by other areas of the business. Including machine operation, Hygiene tasks, out of hours working etc.
• Housekeeping / Health & Safety - maintain a clean and safe environment to ensure the Company maintains BRC standards.
• Continuous Improvement - To actively partake in the company CI principles, promote ideas and partake in workshop activities.

Required Experience

• Have completed an indentured apprenticeship with relevant vocational qualifications in electrical / mechanical principles.
• Electrically biased 70% ideally
• 5 years experience working in a similar role
• Carry out repairs on a variety of electro/mechanical devices
• Competent to work alone or as part of a team.
• Ability to work at height
• Experience of PID temperature controls, thermocouples, RTD's.
• Inspect / test 3 phase 415v motors and control gear.
• Inspect / test 440v dc motors and variable speed drives...
• Siemens S7 or Allen Bradley PLC competent.
• Maintain and set up of flat film extrusion dies.
• Investigate / repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Be able to competently follow a range of engineering drawings incl; electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, mechanical arrangement, pneumatic / hydraulics.
• Be competent in use of Microsoft Office, emails, general pc literate.
• Be able to work to tight timescales in an efficient and productive manner
