Job Title: Mould Production Team Manager

Location: Mould Operations Banbury -days 8=1630 8-1330 friday

Main purpose of job:

To manage all aspects of the Mould Production shifts taking care of the People Process and performance of the department.

Scope of job:

Reporting to: Mould Operations Manager
Direct Reports: Shift Managers / Team Leaders / Production Operators / Cell Leaders / Quality Technicians - Process Administrators
Responsible for: Safety, Quality, Timing, Cost, Motivation and three shifts.

Main duties:

Safety, Environmental Responsibilities:
* Manage health and safety aspects for mould teams.
* Comply with Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
* Ensure compliance with IATF 16949.
* Ensure compliance with Environmental & Health & Safety standards in line with current certification.
* Manage and maintain Risk Assessments within area of responsibility.
* Carry out accident investigation activities, ensure near miss reporting.
* Ensure team comply with the Lock out Tag out Procedure (where applicable).
* Ensure team comply with the Safe System of Work documents.
* To ensure all contractors are signed in with the correct work permits.
* Lead 5S processes and procedures with your area of responsibility.
* To ensure all team members wear appropriate PPE.and act in a safe manner
* Manage health and safety actions links tasks for your department.
* Take appropriate actions in emergency situations.

Quality
* Ensure internal quality control processes are in place
* Ensure Internal quality gate targets are met
* Ensure customer quality gate targets are met
* Ensure the quality concerns internally and externally are resolved and improved within the time frame
* participate in 8D's, problem solving and risk management.
* Manage quality improvements through KPI's.
* Coach the leaders on process adherence and quality management
* Ensure standardised working procedures are in place for all key tasks and kept up to date
* Ensure adequate process audits are in place and responded to
Timing
* Be responsible and available out of hours to be contacted by three shifts. To monitor three shifts performance / risk.
* Manage performance through KPIs and action plans.
* Maintain well organised, secure consumables inventory and replenishment system.
* Manage working wip levels to ensure consistent process flow of parts
* Manage bottle necks within the process chain
* Use the escalation procedure for any issues/concerns e.g. Quality/downtime.
* Be available to support the team in out of hour's emergencies.
* Ensure shift handovers and shift reports are completed at the start and end of each shift.
* Ensure cycle times and production targets are met.
Cost
* Operate within budget for area of responsibility.
* Manage headcount and overtime within budget for your team.
* Lead and champion continuous improvement projects to improve departmental performance on safety, uptime, quality, processes and cost down opportunities.
* Participate and champion projects within the companies CIP scheme.
* Reduce energy consumptions through initiatives and controls (ensuring weekend hours are minimised for energy consumption).
* Reduce waste within the production areas.
* Focus on tac time and process improvement.
* Focus on targets and team efficiency for throughput and output.
Motivation
* Lead with the principals of the company's employee charter
* Manage improvement plan for the areas if EOS is below 80% (where applicable)
* Manage onload / offload teams, training, development versus potential, time and attendance, discipline, team ethics and all HR matters.
* Ensure team training requirements are tracked and fulfilled.
* Coach and develop the leaders
* Carry out annual appraisals and give regular feedback as required.
* Ensure the team is engaged in the company's suggestion scheme.
* Promote the open door policy.
* Support the Fairness Committee initiatives.
* Ensure good team working principals are being adhered by all team members.
* Ensure team members receive daily team briefs regarding performance and SQTCM.

Specific Skills & Experience:
* Leadership Qualification
* Previous production management experience of large teams across shifts patterns
* 5 years' experience in injection moulding management roles
* IOSH trained.
* Experience with Microsoft Office
* Candidates must be able to work using their own initiative, and be able to liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the company. Managing People and processes and budgets within area of responsibility.
