Here at Spalding, we have a team of around 540 colleagues. We produce coleslaw, potato salad, salad bar bulk products (2kg), pasta salads and couscous/grains for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Morrisons, Co-op, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Sainsbury's, KFC, Nando's, Pizza Hut and Costco. Our Spalding site has a restaurant with hot food available to all our colleagues.

What you'll be doing

Mixing Operative - Night Shift - Sunday-Thursday - 22:00pm-06:00am - £14.10 per hour

We are looking for an experienced Mixing Operative to work in our mixing department on our night shift. Working within an exciting and fast paced environment, you will be a key member of our team and will ensure the service we provide to our customer is of exceptional quality. The role is rather physically demanding with a good amount a pushing, pulling and lifting involved. Then there is the skilled side of the role which is the batching and weighing of ingredients into large bins, then transferring via a mechanical lift into an industrial paddle mixer for a specific duration, then into bins for the Filling Lines, whilst filling out all checks.

The role will involve:

* Pre-start up and safety checks

* The ability to understand and read recipes.

* Differentiate between different product components.

* Understand and follow the correct mixing methodology/process as per recipe.

* Need to understand weights and measures.

* Filling out paperwork to a readable standard.

* Work in a clean manner - clean as you go

* Manual Handling.

Other duties are occasionally required.

What we're looking for

Applicants must have a good level of education verbal, written and numerical. Experience of the food manufacturing industry is essential, preferably salads and be flexible in their approach to shifts etc. To be able to work in a physically demanding area of the factory. At time the successful candidate may be required to move shifts/department to meet the needs of the business.
