Salary: Circa £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience

Hybrid working pattern: Where possible, we will seek to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working such as 2 – 3 days per week on site, the rest remote working.

The opportunity:

MBDA are recruiting for experienced test equipment engineers that want to use their knowledge in a system/sub system management role. The role includes determining the project test equipment (TE) needs, handling the requirements for TE and leading the development through delivery and into service. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for all the projects test equipment and report into the Chief Design Engineer#.

You'll be working on the project TE strategy including commonality, TE quantities and types – leading any TE design trades and overall delivery of the TE from our internal design team. Having a hand on delivering the TE to time, cost and quantity.

The department looks after the test architecture of our missiles, specifying and analysing the missile built in test, specifying the production testing requirements and running the specification and delivery of the missile test equipment.

The department consists of 15 people and is targeting growth to 20 this year. We are deployed within individual projects across the full product range and are co-located within that project for the day to day work. Being involved with every stage of the product life cycle from concept, through manufacturing and in service means you will get to see the full breadth of a project!

What we're looking for from you:

Someone who has the ability to influence partners across the business with a strive to succeed. Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent with substantial experience of test, electrical or electronic engineering with at least one of the following –

  • Digital electronics and microprocessor systems.
  • Analogue electronics.
  • Electronics testing.
  • Test equipment design.

A good understanding of –

  • Requirements capture
  • Project management and planning
  • Client management
