Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a well-established interior design firm specialising in High-End Residential sector working on projects of varying scales and predominately serving the South region. Their aesthetic is bespoke and elegant whilst incorporating innovative functionality and they are dedicated to delivering exceptional design solutions that exceed expectations.

My client are currently seeking a talented Mid-Weight Interior Designer to join their creative team in Buckinghamshire. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, a keen eye for detail, and a drive for innovation. It would be essential to have good communication skills as you will be expected to present to clients and lead presentations.

Skills, Experience & Responsibilities for the role of Mid-Weight Interior Designer:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and requirements, demonstrating confidence and professionalism in client meetings.
  • Develop concept designs, mood boards, and presentations to communicate design ideas effectively, showcasing confidence in presenting to clients and engaging them in the creative process.
  • Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules for construction and installation, ensuring alignment with the client's brief and expectations.
  • Source furniture, fixtures, finishes, and accessories that align with the design concept and budget, displaying confidence in decision-making and understanding of the client's aesthetic preferences.
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and artisans to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials and services, maintaining open communication and confidence in managing project logistics.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design or a related field.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software such SketchUp is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture, and lighting design, coupled with confidence in presenting design concepts to clients.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills, with a demonstrated ability to understand and interpret client briefs effectively.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise workload, and meet tight deadlines with confidence and professionalism.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision-making, coupled with confidence in managing project teams and stakeholders.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
