SF Recruitment are recruiting for a Metrology QE to work four our established manufacturing client based in Redditch. The purpose of the role is to support all metrology and calibration activities undertaken in the quality department.

Skills and experience:

o Responsible and accountable for day-to-day operations of the in-house QA laboratory.
o In depth knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949 VDA etc.)
o Proven track record in metrology relating to mechanical, optical and electronic technologies.
o Able to work under own initiative to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
o Ensure the safe running condition of all QA equipment and ensure everyone is abiding to safe working practices.
o Lead improvement activities based on use of data from test equipment.
o Maintain 5S standards within all areas under your control and drive continuous improvement.
o Take an active role in metrology strategy development and deployment.
o Ability to provide documentation for measurement reports and sign off other's reports.

Requirements:

o Detailed knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
o Good understanding of Poly Worx software interface
o Proficient in the use of Mcosmos software with bridge type CMM
o Strong practical abilities with set-up and operation of metrology equipment in the following fields: -
o Dimensional. (CMM; orthogonal bridge type and absolute articulate type) -
o Mitutoyo - programming
o Photometry. (Imaging colorimeter, spectroradiometer etc.)
o Electronics. (Oscilloscopes, Power supply units , Digital multimeters etc)
o Acoustics. (Vibration equipment and sound analysis)
o Experience of working with automotive electronics ECUs i.e. familiar with Controlling ECU over CAN interface.
o Able to interpret technical drawings and CAD to support process engineers with metrology solutions to production problems.

Qualifications:

o HNC/degree electrical/electronic/mechanical engineering.
o Languages: Good understanding of English is essential.
o Driving licence
