Location: Hillsborough, Sheffield

Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 07:15 to 15:30 and Friday 07:15 - 15:00.

We manufacture high-integrity, open-die and closed-die forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel and carbon alloys for customers and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, power generation, marine as well as oil and gas sector. We are unique due to the combination of open and closed-die forging while also undertaking the whole production process from raw material to the finished product in one location.

The role:

  • You will be reporting to the Test House Manager and responsible for conducting a range of metallographic assessments, such as micro/macro structure analysis, grain size & alpha case within titanium, nickel and steels.
  • Conduct failure and non-conformance investigations.
  • Complete reports for data interpretation and assist with developments of new metallographic techniques with an overall aim to widen the laboratory’s scope of approvals

What are we looking for?

  • Educated to A level standard in a science based subject or suitably experienced in a laboratory environment,
  • an understanding of ISO/IEC17025 within a laboratory environment.
  • Proactive approach to health and safety
  • Working knowledge and experience in the application and function of microscopy and metallography
