A fantastic Alternative Provision in Devizes is currently recruiting for a Mental Health/Behaviour Support to join them ASAP. The alternative provision cater for children and young adults who have been excluded from mainstream education or are in a transition period before finding a place in a specialist setting. Many of the students have experience trauma, have SEN, behaviour issues as well as other mental health issues. The role will involve mentoring, teaching and supporting young people who are struggling to access education.

This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant to develop their experience with Special Educational Needs and Behavioural Needs. A graduate will a degree graded 2:2 or above is deal for this role and some previous experience working with SEN children is desirable. This Mental Health/Behaviour Support position will be working 1:1 with children who have mental health difficulties, display challenging behaviour and have learning disabilities such as ASD. Degrees of particular interest would be Psychology, Criminology and Health & Social Care backgrounds.

If you are confident, enthusiastic and dedicated to bringing out the best in every child then this Mental Health/Behaviour Support position is for you. Ideally, you will have excellent behaviour management skills and be willing to undertake restraint training.
