Job Outline

As a Meetings and Events Sales Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in meeting monthly and annual sales targets by responding to enquiries, writing proposals, conducting site visits, and coordinating all event details. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, maximise income, and ensure seamless event execution. Your responsibilities will also include account management, financial reporting, and system support.

Responsibilities

  • Sales: Meet monthly and annual sales targets, handle enquiries, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and maintain accurate records.
  • Client Liaison: Build strong client relationships, plan and organise events, liaise with operations teams, and gather post-event feedback.
  • System Support: Act as a staff champion for the conference booking system and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Staff Supervision: Support the induction and training of new team members.
  • Finance: Interpret budgets, prepare invoices, ensure timely payments, and maintain financial records.
  • Other: Utilise opportunities for skill development, provide flexible support to operations, assist with office administration, and ensure high levels of customer service.

Person Specification

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to remain calm and confident under pressure
  • Previous experience in event coordination and sales
  • Familiarity with audio-visual equipment and hospitality services
  • IT proficiency and social media savvy
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt

Hours of Work

The basic working week is 40 hours, with occasional evening and weekend work required based on business needs. Flexibility in working hours and days is essential.
