Medical Imagining Co-Ordinator

Pay Rates: £19 - £22 PAYE per hour

£20 - £23 PAYE inclusive of holiday pay per hour

£21 - £24 Umbrella per hour

Working Days and Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, 37.5 hours per week

Job Summary

As Medical imaging Coordinator you will be a self-motivated, pro-active individual with both excellent time management and organisational skills. The postholder will act as an exemplar and professional role-model in embracing core values of caring, organised, excellent and inclusive.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and motivate imaging staff, ensuring appropriate management structures, policies and practices are in place to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Work with the Head of Imaging & Ultrasound to support the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective imaging care.
  • Oversight of all statutory training and ensure all imaging staff are fully compliant.
  • Ensuring there are one to one meetings, organised for all staff, to ensure both personal and professional development is monitored.
  • Monitoring, reporting and management of sickness absence in line with Trust Policy and Procedure.
  • Undertake rota management of the adult and paediatric medical photography team ensuring there is sufficient staff allocation.
  • Responsible for ensuring departmental supplies and purchases are made using the Trust’s E-Procurement System.
  • Liaise with Medical records department, with regard to patient access requests, train and assist the administrative officers to handle GDPR requests.
  • Deputise for the Head of Department and / or attend meetings as delegated by senior managers.
  • Actively participate in audit and continuously review own work to maintain and improve quality of imaging performed.
  • Recruit and induct new members of staff where required, including training with regard to trust/ department/specialty policies and procedures.

Person Specification

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Substantive Band 6 experience within a healthcare environment
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Good understanding of GDPR and compliance within a healthcare environment
  • Ability to use own judgement and initiative and prioritise workload
  • Experience of recruiting and managing a team
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels

Essential Experience

  • Experience working in band 6 and above
  • At least 2 years recent NHS experience
  • Managing staff

Desirable Experience

  • NHS smart card
  • Auditing experience
